The Institute of Applied Data Analytics (IADA) is proud to share that Senior Professor Chandratilak De Silva Liyanage has been named a featured speaker at Digital Universities Asia 2026. Professor Liyanage is the Director of IADA, as well as Dean of the School of Digital Science at Universiti Brunei Darussalam.
Organized by Times Higher Education, the event takes place from 24 to 25 September 2026 in Chengdu, China. It brings together leaders from higher education, industry, and policy to examine the social impact of digital transformation across the region’s universities. Professor Liyanage joins an international line-up of speakers contributing to that conversation.
His selection reflects a research career spanning artificial intelligence, smart systems, signal processing, energy technologies, and multimodal intelligence, built through collaborations with leading universities and industry partners worldwide. He has published more than 200 technical papers and holds several international patents, and is recognized among Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists. He also contributed to the internationally recognized UBD Coursera AI Innovation Award for Asia Pacific through the Applied Artificial Intelligence programme.
His participation places IADA and the School of Digital Science within a regional dialogue on the future of digital higher education. It is a fitting platform for the Institute’s work in applied data analytics and AI, and a reflection of the leadership Professor Liyanage brings to IADA.
